About the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)
An International Society
The SPE DUET Student Chapter was established in October 2017 at the Department of Petroleum and Gas, DUET.
SPE is an international organization that helps not only to remain in touch and updated regarding the modern development and activities going on in the oil and gas industries but also supports participation in different conferences and competitions organized worldwide.
The platform SPE student chapter works as a communication bridge between the industry and universities to minimize the gap between them. Sections and student chapters provide the framework for members to exchange technical information, network and engage in activities to benefit their communities. Each group is unique, with autonomy to develop programs specific to the needs of its members and community.

ü Universities, research centers, and institutes
ü Professional societies
ü Local, national, and international governmental organizations

Some of the activities from the platform of SPE DUET chapter are already completed, which includes technical sessions and field visits. More of the programs are also listed to carry out in the following months.
